Clever Project is a reflection on the role and status of theatre in the times of the economic crisis. The dancers of Clever Team engage in a surprising dialogue with the audience, performing a set of ten pieces and offering an extra seasonal 'bargain' show
Radek Hewelt and Filip Szatarski respond to the market’s needs with the offer of ten perfomances for the price of one ticket and an extra show as part of a seasonal 'bargain' – performing a extra little Christmas, Holiday, or Valentine’s Day scene, depending on the season. Thus, the performers aim to prove that the crisis is a positive and inspiring event, which has given rise to artistic event. The show brings together dance, opera, group therapy and numerous other genres which do not yet even have a name. The costumes, light and stage design have been created by the two performers, Radek Hewelt and Filip Szatarski.
The duo has also authored the concept, which was adapted for the stage by Michał Kotański. The music for the piece has been written by Guenther Berger with additional stage design participation from Luke Baio. The project is a coproduction of the Klub Żak from Gdańsk, WUK Theater in Vienna, the Polish Institute in Vienna and the Visitores Verein zur Projektion künstlerischer Ideen programme. Clever Project also benefits from the support of Vienna’s City cultural council.
Performances take place on the 11th and 12th of February, 2013, 8 pm at the WUK Theater in Vienna
