Her theatrical career gained real momentum in 2015, just after graduating from drama school. It was then that she played the role of Lea in Maja Kleczewska’s Dybbuk (Jewish Theatre in Warsaw) and became a full-time actress at the Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw. For her role in Dybbuk, she received the Andrzej Nardelli Prize awarded annually for the best stage debut by the Union of Polish Stage Artists (this was Koleśnik’s ‘second debut’, this time she prepared the role not as a student but as a graduate). In their verdict, the jury emphasised the actress’s extraordinary sensitivity, her ability to find the ‘metaphysical accents’ of a role and her ability to cope with a multifaceted, difficult task.
At Powszechny Theatre, her workplace since 2015, she has worked with, among others, Krzysztof Garbaczewski (Peasants, 2017 and Nietota, 2018), Wiktor Rubin (Nero, 2018), Justyna Sobczyk and Jakub Skrzywanek (Superspectacle, 2018), Ewelina Marciniak (The Books of Jacob, 2016), Krystian Lupa (Capri, 2019) and again with Maja Kleczewska (The Rage, 2016 and The Bacchantes, 2018). For her role as Jagna in Garbaczewski’s Peasants, she received the Young Artist Award of the 4th New Theatre Festival in Rzeszów, and at the 43rd Opole Theatre Confrontations she was awarded the Main Acting Award of the journalistic jury and the main jury’s distinction.
She has also performed in other leading Warsaw institutions: in Mariusz Treliński’s production of The Dead City at the Wielki Theatre – Polish National Opera and in the production G.E.N. directed by Grzegorz Jarzyna (TR Warszawa).
