Artur Majewski – trumpeter and composer, born in Wrocław in 1978. In 2002 he graduated from the Academy of Music in Katowice, where he studied the trumpet at the Faculty of Jazz and Light Music. For nine years Majewski was a member of Robotobibok, a band which explored the border of rock, jazz, electronic music and drum’n’bass.

At present, along with drummer of Robotobibok Kuba Suchar, he forms Mikrokolektyw, one of the key formations of the Polish improvised music scene and the only Polish band to record for Delmark Records. He also participates in other artistic enterprises which include Foton Quartet with Gerard Lebik, Wojtek Romanowski and Kuba Cywiński. He collaborates with the band Kristen and regularly performs alongside bassist Rafał Mazur.
The years of Majewski’s creative work, as well as unusual artistic consistency and his own unique language brought him recognition and the label of one of the most remarkable improvisers in Europe.
