The Tatra Mountains, or Tatry in Polish, form a magnificent natural border between Southern Poland and Slovakia. They are especially appreciated for their breathtaking peaks over 2500m high, as well as the accessibility.
Szymon Ziobrowski, director of the National Park, said to the press that:
It is a great honor for us. We are pleased that the quality of the Tatra Mountains and the efforts of the park employees to protect nature are appreciated.
Mountaineers and hikers in Central Europe have been fascinated by the Tatras for over a century. Art historian Piotr Mazik has recently published a exceptionally precious collection of archival photographs featuring Tatra mountain climbers, hikers and skiers in the 1900s.

Apart from the Tatra National Park, the list also featured the Iguazu Falls and Los Glaciares and the Nahuel Huapi Park, with Argentina occupying the three first rankings.
