Mozarteum University in Salzburg hosts an annual summer academy for musicians with master classes conducted by leading musical educators from around the world who teach during three two-week long series. Subjects include piano, violin, viola, cello, flute, voice, organ and composition. Concerts showcase ten emerging artists and Andrzej Lampert was among the three singers chosen in 2013.
The Polish tenor’s performance of opera arias, accompanied by the pianist Marcin Kozieł, was warmly received at the Salzburg festival. Two days later, Lampert performed at the end of the Festival of Music in Golling, Austria, singing fragments from Haydn’s The Creation and Mozart’s opera Cosi fan tutte with ensemble accompaniment.
Andrzej Lampert is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Kraków, appeared on the popular Polish television program Szansa na sukces / Chance for Success and instigated the formation of the musical group PIN. Educated in both classical music and vocal jazz, the young musician has a promising future. In 2005 at the third edition of the I.J. Paderewski Vocal Competition in Bydgoszcz, Lampert received a special award from the Polish Auction of Modern Art in New York. The award was founded on an initiative started by Wiesław Ochman for “the most promising tenor voice.” He has performed at esteemed venues such as the Grand Theatre in Poznań, the Bytom Opera House, and with the philharmonics in Warsaw, Szczecin, Katowice, Słupsk and Kraków.
This season, Lampert was chosen as a soloist for the Kraków Opera, where he had his debut as Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly just one year ago.
