This will be the 10th time that the comics festival take place in Budapest. This year's edition is scheduled for May 18. Two Poles were among the invited guests – writer Bartosz Sztybor and cartoonist Piotr Nowacki.
The collectible festival release to be issued is Options – a comic created by the duo of Sztybor–Nowacki. The album is 32 pages long and will cost 600-700 forints (approximately €2).
"This is the second Polish visit to Hungary. Last year, Michał Śledziński and Paweł Timofiejuk were invited as our representatives. This year Piotr Nowacki and I were selected for the festival. A meeting with us which will highlight the story of our cooperation and the universality of silent comics is planned. The festival will also host an autograph session where we will sign copies of one comic book issued outside Poland and another that was released especially for the Budapesti Nemzetközi Képregény Festival" - says Bartosz Sztybor.
Options is a combination of three short stories, the leitmotif of which is the titular options. Options - different choices and decisions - lead to different effects and consequences. These are three short comics that tell not only about the easier choices of everyday life, but also about those difficult ones that may affect the whole future. At the same time the Options is a set in which the subject is expressed by the form. Each of the comics is an experimental trial, in which we have fun with narration and composition frames and boards. Every single comic is dumb. One of them was previously published in the Tainted collection. – Sztybor explains
