Jan Kidawa-Błoński wasn't able to receive the award in person at the festival, which ended on the 11th of September, because he was shooting his next film. The Romanian delegation of the Central European Film Festival in Medias travelled to Dąbrowa Górnicza to take part a conference entitled "The impact of job mobility and migration on socio-economic development and labour market regions and cities", an event accompanying the Polish Presidency of the EU Council. During the conference, delegates presented the statuette to Kidawa-Błoński.
"Romania is especially close to me as a country with some of the best cinematography. That is why I had to come to Dąbrowa Górnicza, when I heard about the arrival of the delegation", explained Kidawa-Błoński.
The Central European Film Festival was accompanied by concerts, performances and discussions on cinema.
"Różyczka" / "Little Rose" was screened in cinemas in 2010. The film shows the complicated relationship between a highly regarded writer, his wife and her lover.
