Golden Drops, a film by Daniel Zduńczyk and Marcin Męczkowski, was presented with the Best Animation award at the New Media Film Festival in Los Angeles.
New Media Film Festival is one of the world’s biggest film events to promote television and new media creators. The festival jury awards the best animated films, online shows, applications and music videos.
The Best Animation award is yet another prize for Zduńczyk and Męczkowski’s film; in 2015 their production has also been awarded Best Feature Animation at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival in India.
Golden Drops is an animated feature film by Wrocław-based Virtual Magic studio directed by Daniel Zduńczyk and Marcin Męczkowski with a screenplay by Andrzej Surmacz, Daniel Zduńczyk, Marcin Męczkowski and Wioletta Pomorska-Yang.
The film tells a story of conflicted siblings, 7-year old Adam and 15-year old Aneta, who, confronted with their mothers disease, decide to reconcile and together look for help. To find a cure for their mother they go back in time to the Middle Ages.
Golden Drops was created in Virtual Magic studio, responsible for several major productions, including Asylum 5D, Mysterious Underground 5D, Prehistoric Oceanarium and Kajko i Kokosz. The studio uses state of the art AMD technology that allows for quick rendering of the animation. Golden Drops is a result of mixing two styles of animation: classic and CGI 3D.
The film charecters were voiced by Benjamin Lewandowski and Aleksandra Kowalicka, as well as Maciej Stuhr, Cezary Pazura, Andrzej Grabowski, Robert Gonera, Marzena Kipiel-Sztuka, Dariusz Gnatowski, Jarosław Boberek, Tomasz Kot and Jerzy Kryszak.
Golden Drops is to be shown in cinemas in fall 2015.
