The theatre aims to create a program of artistic residencies, meetings of dancers and choreographers, and the development of close cooperation with international centres of dance activity with a similar profile to the Dance and Movement Theatre Rozbark. The facility also wants to promote and present achievements of young talent.
The culmination of the efforts of the institution is to be further editions of the International Contemporary Dance Conference & Performance Festival, one of the largest events of its kind in Central Europe, and the most recognizable brand of Bytom outside the country. During the festival, which is visited by artists from all over the world, interesting new trends in contemporary dance performance are presented.
Rozbark was opened for audiences for the first time during the weekend of 7-9 March.
The theater was established at the end of 2013. The headquarters are located in the old pithead of the former mine Rozbark which was closed 10 years ago.
