The award marks a major milestone not only in Śniechowska’s career, but also for Poland’s culinary scene, which has been gaining increasing international recognition in recent years. Located in the heart of Wrocław, BABA has built a reputation for its modern approach to Polish cuisine, combining local ingredients with contemporary techniques and bold, creative flavours.
The restaurant had previously appeared in the Michelin Guide as a recommended venue, but this year’s ceremony elevated it to the elite group of starred establishments. During the event, Śniechowska thanked her team and emphasised that the recognition was the result of years of dedication, passion and hard work.

Experts describe the distinction as a breakthrough moment for women in Polish gastronomy and another sign of the country’s growing importance on Europe’s fine dining map.
Poland now has 11 Michelin-starred restaurants and this year saw the publication of the first-ever nationwide Polish edition of the guide. Want to dine in such an establishment? Be sure to visit Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań, Gdańsk, Kościelisko, or Pszczyna (!).
