The workshops are a unique way to learn the complex process of design – from a concept to production, from preliminary chats with the client to a tight co-operation with a producer. Experience gained during those workshops will be crucial for further career development of its participants – the project opens door to the industrial design field. The young designers will realise their projects, gain invaluable experience and make numerous business contacts.
The effects of the workshops from previous years (2013 and 2014) have been presented in Wrocław, Poznań, Łódź, London, Stoke-on-Trent and New York. This year those works will be exhibited during the One Design Week in Bulgaria. Two objects of last year’s Art Food will be produced for Central St Martin’s. Furthermore, works of two Polish graduates of the program, Ewelina Wiśniowska and Alicja Patanowska, were showcased during Frankfurt-based Ambiente fairs. Patanowska’s other work Plantacja was bought by the Shanghai Museum of Glass. Plantacja will soon become a part of the museum’s core exhibition.
Works created during this year’s workshops will be presented in Gdańsk, then in London and New York. The best projects will be produced by professional manufacturers and designated for sale.
The exhibition in New York will be held at the Pratt Institute from 9th to 15th November 2015.
