Composer Abel Korzeniowski has received a nomination in the category of Best Original Score- Motion Picture for Madonna’s film "W.E." from the Hollywood Foreign Press
This is Korzeniowski’s second nomination - in 2010 he took home the Golden Globe in the same category for his work on Tom Ford’s "Single Man". Korzeniowski was born in Kraków and graduated from the city's prestigious Music Academy, having studied the cello and composition under the tutelage of famed composer Krzysztof Penderecki. In Poland he gained renown for his commissions for theatre, film and live orchestra performances, breaking out with a new, original score for Fritz Lang’s "Metropolis". In 2006 he relocated to Los Angeles, composing music for major Hollywood productions.
At the announcement ceremony on Thursday, the 17th of December, 2011 Roman Polański's film "Carnage" also received a nod with nominations for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical going to Kate Winslet and and Jodie Foster.
Nominees in the premier categories include: Best Motion Picture - Drama for George Clooney’s "The Ides of March", Bennett Miller’s "Moneyball" and "Hugo". Nominated for Best Director: Woody Allen, George Clooney, Michel Hazanavicius, Alexander Payne and Martin Scorsese. "The Artist", a black-and-white, silent motion picture by Michel Hazanavicius scored the most nominations (6) for this edition.The 69th Golden Globes takes place on the 15th of January, 2012.

Best Actor - Motion Picture Drama: George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Fassbender, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt.
Best Actress - Motion Picture Drama: Glenn Close, Viola Davis, Rooney Mara, Meryl Streep and Tilda Swinton.
