"Polish Design: in the Middle of" is an extensive presentation of contemporary Polish design opened at the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven in October of 2014. Initiated by Culture.pl it was a first such comprehensive presentation of Polish contemporary design in the Netherlands.
The exhibition, currently showcased at the Poznań Concordia Design, presents works of over thirty designers, project groups, producers and students. As arranged by the curator Izabela Bołoz, it shows the very best of Polish design.
Hospitality is one of the most important Polish values - this is why the exhibition adopts a form of a long table, which is a central point of each Polish home and which invites everyone to cluster around it, to engage in a discussion, to spend some time together. The narration is based on four topics: furniture and home, technology, ceramics and tableware, and toys for children.
Among the authors of the exhibited works are Oskar Zięta, Marek Cecuła, Bolesławiec pottery, Kristoff porcelain, Ewa Solarz, Dice+, Agnieszka Bar, Laloushka, Robert Czajka (Papierowe Miasto / Paper City), Agnieszka Czop, KABO & PYDO and others.
