Based on motifs from the novels THE SWORD OF DESTINY and THE LAST WISH by the master of Polish fantasy prose Andrzej Sapkowski, the film tells the story of Gerald of Rivia, skilled slayer of monsters, romantic knight, and uncompromising warrior against evil. Gerald is exceptional for his righteousness and adherence to principles. Always on the side of the weak and oppressed, he combats intolerance and cruelty. Far from being a soulless and inhuman killing machine, Gerald is a man who feels, suffers, and has the ability to love. Cast out of the guild of warlocks for being too human, he is simultaneously feared among men for his strength in vanquishing ogres.
"THE WARLOCK is a film about a hero joining the characteristics of a romantic knight and a lonely samurai ruthlessly fighting the evil", said the film's director, Marek Brodzki.
Screenplay by Michal Szczerbic, cinematography by Bogdan Stachurski, music by Grzegorz Ciechowski.
