The final stop on the "Spoken Exhibitions" tour takes place at Kiev's CCA Foundation. Eminent critics and curators present a vibrant showcase of the most happening phenomena in Polish art, architecture design and sound art
"Spoken Exhibitions" are a virtual tour through a wide range of genres and media led by the youngest generation of artists and critics from Poland. Grzegorz Piątek and Jarosław Trybuś (Golden Lion for best national participation at Venice Biennale 2008) Sebastian Cichocki(chief curator at Warsaw's Museum of Modern Art, curator of the Polish Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2011) and Michał Libera(historian, critic and theorist of music) present an overview of the current art scene in Poland, with references to the groundbreaking currents in the Polish culture and art of the second half of the 20th century, in a radio play format that engages listeners in a debate on the state of Polish art.
In 2008, the Soros Center for Contemporary Art in Kiev officially closed its doors. Yet shortly after this closing, the infrastructure of the center was reformulated and reopened as the Foundation Center for Contemporary Art - an organisation with a similar mission to support emerging and non-commercial contemporary art practices. The CCA Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that operates as a medium between the contemporary visual arts and real-life social processes.
