Ever since Lena’s mother died giving birth to her brother, the girl blames her sibling for the loss. Attempting to recontact their long lost father she finds out he has a new family. The events in the movie happen to coincide with Halloween and All Saints Day
Aleksandra Terpińska’s 18 minute short captures Lena on her 18th birthday on November 1st. On this day, which is a time of deep contemplation and visiting family graves, she decides to get in touch with her father. In turns out that he has a new family and shows no interest in his newly found daughter. For Lena All Souls' Day turns out to be a time of a complete change of perspective regarding family matters, reinforced by her brother’s unexpected gift for the birthday girl.
All Souls' Day screens at the 60th edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival as part of the International Film Students Meeting. The San Sebastian Film Festival is an A category film festival established in 1953 which in 2012 exceptionally awards 5 Donostia Awards.
Aleksandra Terpińska - Director and screenwriter of short films and commercials. Fourth-year directing student at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Radio and Television Faculty at the University of Silesia in Katowice, a graduate in psychology from Wroclaw University. She has directed the student shorts Jasmine, Furies, Tonio Krüger and a documentary on rugby players in wheelchairs No Mercy. Awards: Screenplay and Directing Award at the Kodak Student Commercial Competition 2009.
