Featuring the likes of Leszek Możdzer, Jazzpospolita and Imagination Quartet, the Danish Jazz Festival puts Polish Jazz in the spotlight
With the Huset-KBH opening its doors for three days to a top of the range line up of jazz acts, the Copenhagen Jazz Festival also launches a Polish-Danish jazz exchange project. The Polish jazz scene is represented by a wide range of internationally known acts and yet to be discovered bands offering stylistic variety and artistic range. From solo piano concerts, to trios and quartets, Jazz po Polsku is a window into a thriving jazz scene yet unknown to many jazz enthusiasts. Giving a taste of the Eastern variety of jazz, Jazz Po Polsku shows Eastern energy and potential.
At the same time, Jazz po Polsku marks the launching of an exchange project organised by Sundance Music and JazzDanmark for a number of Polish collaborators when 8-10 Danish jazz bands will tour and play concerts in Poland in November 2012. Presenting the Danish jazz scene to Polish audiences, in Novemebr 2012, more than 30 concerts with Danish acts take place in various Polish cities.
