The Polish youth orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus performs at the prestigious Musikverein
Sinfonia Iuventus features the brightest graduates and students of Polish music academies, under the age of thirty. Artistic director Tadeusz Wojciechowski directs the orchestra and featured soloist Yang Jiang.
The programme of the concert in Vienna:
- Franz Liszt - symphonic poem Les Préludes
- Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Piano Concerto No. 11 in F major KV 459
- Antonín Dvořák - Symphony No. 9 in E Minor "From the New World"
Sinfonia Iuventus began their artistic activity in 2008. Right from the start the orchstra had the opportunity to collaborate with great conductors, such as Gabriel Chmura, Theodor Guschlbauer,
Kazimierz Kord, Jan Krenz, Grzegorz Nowak,
Krzysztof Penderecki, Jerzy Semkow, Jerzy Swoboda, Evgeny Volynskiy,
Antoni Wit, Tadeusz Wojciechowski, as well as young conductors and soloists such as Dorota Anderszewska, Abdel Rahman El Bacha, François-René Duchâble, Lukas Geniušas, Krzysztof Jabłoński and Jakub Jakowicz.
The orchestra has performed at many venues and at numerous festivals in Poland and abroad, including China, France, Spain, Lithuania, Portugal, Switzerland, Ukraine, Italy.
Since April 2009 the orchestra has been a member of the European Federation of National Youth Orchestras (EFNYO).
The concert in Vienna takes place on May 22, 2011 at 19:30.
