Pianists Joo-yeon Ka and Hong-gi Kim successfully passed the eliminations and were qualified for 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition. Both of them had previously won many competitions in South Korea and other countries around the world. Their concerts in the National Museum of Korea, featuring works by Fryderyk Chopin, were held as events accompanying the exhibition "Polish Art: An Enduring Spirit", which opened on June 4, 2015 . The program of events accompanying the exhibition also included a recital by Polish pianist Maciej Grzybowski, Polish film screenings, as well as lectures on Polish film, history and design. The exhibition at the National Museum of Korea was held from June 15 to August 30, 2015.
Joo-yeon Ka is a young pianist, winner of many piano competitions in South Korea, Germany (Troisdorf International Piano Competition) and Japan (International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia). She has also given concerts in China, Austria and Hungary.
Hong-gi Kim graduated from the Korea National University of Arts in Seoul and is currently studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich. He is a winner of piano competitions in Switzerland (69th Geneva International Music Competition), Korea (11th Isangyun International Music Competition) and China (6th China International Piano Competition). He has played recitals in, among other countries, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, China and Korea. To date, he has performed with orchestras such as Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Macau Orchestra, Changwon Symphony Orchestra, Wonju Symphony Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul Youth Orchestra, KNUA Symphony Orchestra or Korean Symphony Orchestra.
