Scream Maker play music steeped in the tradition of British heavy metal, focusing on good melodies, dynamics and unconventional sound. During their five-year career they have already released three albums, played over a hundred concerts, and shared the stage with world's most famous artists – Judas Priest, Motorhead, Slayer and Saxon. They started performing in China in the spring of 2014. Sebastian, the band's vocalist, says:
We went there because two music fans from China invited us to release an album there and go on a promotional tour. We played six concerts then, including performances at the Strawberry Music Festival and at the celebration of the 65th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and China.
Another tour took the musicians to Chinese music clubs in 2015. According to Sebastian, contacts made on that tour resulted in more invitations to China:
There were ten concerts then, but on smaller stages. If it wasn't for those few acts in clubs, thanks to which we established a lot of contacts, our next, eleven-concert tour last spring, during which we appeared at major Chinese festivals, such as Midi or Changjiang, would not be possible. And so we keep going. Now we are going to China for a month. We will give twenty unplugged concerts in clubs. Our tour will cover a total of eight thousand kilometers.
Scream Maker prepared a new single for their Chinese fans, especially for their fourth tour. 'The working title is Lost in Shanghai, because it's really easy to get lost in that city' – Michał, the band's guitarist, laughs as he speaks. Has Scream Maker conquered China? 'Conquer China? What an idea! After all, the country has 1.4 billion people. For us, it is a great adventure just to be able to go there. We enjoy the enthusiasm of the Chinese audience, but we do not pretend we are superstars' – says Michał modestly.
The band was supported on second guitar by a former member – Łukasz Mackiewicz, who is currently in Tokyo on a scholarship.
