WIELS
Established in 2008 within the walls of a former brewery, WIELS is one of the leading institutions for contemporary art in Europe. Although it does not have a permanent collection, WIELS presents highly-praised temporary exhibitions by Belgian and international artists, both emerging and more established. The institution has presented more than 50 exhibitions so far. It has welcomed over 90 residents and organised innumerable educational and social-artistic initiatives.
WIELS is a site of creation and dialogue in which art and architecture form the basis for discussion about current events and issues. This is done through both the exhibition programme and a host of complementary activities.
During their art book fair, WIELS will host the second Annual Brussels International Underground Poetry Fest. It will include a complementary programme of presentations, lectures and other related events.
