Polish productions at the Stoptrik International Film Festival in Slovenia. The city of Maribor presents the first edition of the international film festival dedicated exclusively to the worldwide art of stop motion animation
Stoptrik International Film Festival 2011 is a brand new initiative created by the members of centre of alternative culture, Pekarna - magdalenske mreže.
The uniqueness of stop motion genre lies in combination of reality and illusion. The festivalis a great retrospective of the genre. In addition to the classic stop-motion animation by Jiří Bart and Jan Švankmajer, in the "International Selection" series includes screenings of the best contemporary films from around the world.
In a specialsection of the festival "Focus on Poland", along with films by Zbigniew Kotecki and Izabela Plucińska, audiences can find music videos by Monika Kuczyniecka, a duet by Kijek/Adamski and the award-winning "Trembling trumpets" / "Drżące Trąby" by Natalia Dróżyńska.
Thanks to the cooperation of Se-ma-for Film Festival, the Stoptrik festival is presenting separate sections for screening of the studio productions from Łódź such as "Mask" by the Brothers Quay, films by Mark Skrobecki, Jarosław Konopka, Paweł Partyka, Katarzyny Nalewajka and Paulina Szewczyk.
The Stoptrik IFF is held on 26-28 August 2011 in Maribor, Slovenia.
