One of the most interesting and recognizable music event took place in Three Ponds Valley, Katowice – a beautiful green oasis in the heart of industrial Silesia.
The ethos of the OFF Festival’s organizer, Artur Rojek is firmly aimed at supporting original, sophisticated music. Many invited artists representing the top shelf of the avant-garde rock music were brought to Poland for the very first time. Over the years the Festival has been growing in prominence. Thanks to Rojek’s forward-thinking, eclectic music policy it has gained true recognition among both the mass media and the audience. The artists presented at the Festival vary from world-renowned stars of alternative music to representatives of young, promising Polish music scene.
This year’s edition of the OFF Festival featured nearly one hundred acts across four stages.
Artists who performed at this year's festival included Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Low, Deerhoof, Liars, Actress, Meshuggah, Kury playing "P.O.L.O.V.I.R.U.S.", Czesław Śpiewa / Tesco Value, Abradab playing Kaliber 44, and Lech Janerka. A special opening show featured Current 93 + guests. The Polish audience also had a chance to see the legendary Public Image Ltd for the first time.
