LUTOSL is an initiative by the composer and arranger Jacek Kochan, who was inspired by one of the greatest figures in the world of contemporary classical music in the second half of the twentieth century - Witold Lutosławski. Kochan has developed eight works by the composer: Bucolics 1, 2, 3, 4, Dance Preludes 1 and 2, Melodia and Czteropalcówka. The project LUTOSL also involves two excellent musicians, pianist Dominik Wania and bassist Michał Kapczuk. As a result of their collaboration, a variety of musical material was made following Lutosławski’s work, including improvised jazz pieces, classical music and contemporary genres.
The concert starts at 21:30 on 5th March 2014, at the renowned Istanbul venue, Nargis Jazz Club in the Beyoğlu district. The concert is organized as part of the project celebrating the 600th anniversary of Polish-Turkish diplomatic and cultural relations throughout the year 2014.
