The workshops series coordinated by Anna Owsiany are addressed to kids of two age-groups: 4-6 and 9-11 years. The goal of creating a great gadget that is symbolic of Poland past and present inspires children to reflect upon the nation's history and culture. The workshop series with older children goes further to establish an idea of what is specific to Polish culture and how to familiarise foreigners with our country. Children have the chance to make prototypes of various gadgets, such as keychains, t-shirts, and mugs, as well as inventing catch phrases to promote these items and Polish culture around the world.
Anna Owsiany is the author and a cultural animator, coordinating various artistic and educational projects. She has worked within the Zachęta National Art Gallery's education department since 2005. One of her recent projects was an installation entitled "The Magic Tree", which she created together with children in Warsaw's Park Skaryszewski in 2011.
