Seasoned masters, renowned classics and emerging talents of Polish comics presented their works at Tokyo's Uplink Gallery
This cross-section of richly varied Polish cartoons is a means of promoting Polish culture through a visual language that is universal across continents.
Reaching an audience of 500,000 people in Japan, the show promoted Polish classics of the comic strip alongside young talents of the genre.
Featured arists of the old garde include: Jerzy Henryk Chmielewski, Szarlota Pawel, Tadeusz Baranowski, Janusz Christa, Zbigniew Kasprzak, Bogusław Polch. Up-and-coming artists exhibited at the show included: Przemysławem Truścińskim, Rafałem Gosieniecki, Jakubem Rebelką, Pawłem Timofiejukiem.Michał Śledziński, Rafał Gosieniecki, Jakub Rebelka, Daniel Grzeszkiewicz, Jakub Woynarowski and Rafał Szłapa.
A colourful catalogue in three languages (Polish, English and Japanese) was distributed at the exhibition, with artists signing copies during the gallery event.
