The Era New Horizons Tour kicks off on the first day of the new year with a week-long film digest of the 10th edition of the Era New Horizons International Film Festival . Through the first half of March, the ENH Tour travels across Poland to 10 cities
The tour focuses on the best and brightest pictures of the International Film Festival Era New Horizons, which took place between July and August 2010. The tour features those films that won awards or proved particularly noteworthy among audiences and/or critics. The festival features a great number of international selections, such as Mundane History (Thailand) directed by Anocha Suwichakornpong - winner of Grand Prix for the best film in the main competition, Le quattro volte (Italy, Germany, Switzerland) directed by Michelangelo Frammartin - audience's favorite , awarded by the International Film Guide, We Don't Care about Music Anyway (France) directed by Cédric Dupire and Gaspard Kuentz - winner of the "Best Films about Art" Award and the Russian picture Mama directed by Nikolay and Yelena Renard, which received the festival's FIPRESCI.critics' award.
According to Roman Gutek, the Era New Horizons Festival is an event that aims to push the boundaries of conventional cinema festivals and reach towards more independent, more innovative cinema, promoting filmmakers who go against the grain and bringing films to audiences who are curious about alternative forms, style, stories and language. Festival organisers cherry-pick of selection of films from all over the world that give rise to polemics and discussions, praise and protest - films that often set the newest trends in world cinema art. By promoting uncompromising cinema, the festival aims to bring future visionaries into the public eye - a challenge in a crowded industry.
The festival is a member of FIAPF (Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films) - a Paris-based regulator of international film festivals.
