Performing since 2011, Drekoty brings something new to the Polish scene. Their album Persentyna, released in the autumn of 2012, is not ideal soundtrack for holiday travel. It is untamable and requires a lot of attention. Their songs are thus regarded as an avant-garde hits.
Their songs combine the different experiences of leader Ola Rzepka – a self-taught drummer and trained pianist, who also studied eurythmics. All of this is combined in Drekoty: movement, emotion, primal screams and symmetry, sparse low key forms and great expression.
Drekoty will perform live at Pera Museum on September 17, starting at 20:00. Previously in the Pera Museum's Young Wednesday concert series, performances by Marcin Masecki and Soniamiki thrilled Turkish music lovers.
