Collective Unconscious draws from old Slavic rituals, translated into contemporary design language. Delving into the ancient habits of Poland brings out the intimate relationship between man and nature and the changing seasons, throughout the exhibition.
Kosmos was mainly inspired by the Polish rites Kupala Night / Noc Kupały and Dziady / Forefathers’ Eve. The former is the ceremony of life, the future, wealth, erotic force; the latter is the mystery of death, the past, recalling ancestors, meditation.
Prior to its London presentation, the project was a success during the Salone del Mobile 2013 in Milan. The collection combines traditional craft techniques from Poland, working on natural materials with modern industrial techniques in order to create a profoundly modern, intrinsically Polish result.
