Located in the very heart of Beijing, the futuristic building of the National Centre for the Performing Arts is home to one of the most prestigious stages in China. It houses three major performance halls: Opera Hall, Music Hall and Theatre Hall, with seats for nearly 5.5 thousand viewers. Since the opening concert, which took place in 2007, the Centre has hosted the greatest artists from China and abroad. To date, cultural events organized in the NCPA - including concerts, opera, ballet and drama performances, as well as art exhibitions - attracted 2,678 million viewers. On the day of the AMI Director's lecture, the NCPA hosted a concert of one of the best Polish orchestras, Sinfonia Varsovia, which thus inaugurated its first China tour.
