He graduated from Professor Piotr Reichart's class at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. He complemented his education at the masterclasses with Seiji Ozawa, Sadao Harada, Gabor Takács, Kim Kashkashian, Pamela Frank, Nobuko Imai, Miriam Fried, Andrzej Bauer, Stefan Kamasa, Wolfgang Marschner, Atar Arad, and Ralf Gothoni.
He is the first Polish violist to be awarded in the International Contest ART in Munich (placed second in 2004) and a winner of contests in Pörtchach (Austria), Essen (Germany) and Bled (Slovenia).
As a chamber musician he is often invited to collaborate with celebrated artists, such as Gidon Kremer, Heinrich Schiff, Juriij Baszmiet, Ko Iwasaki and Frans Helmersson, with whom he performed at well-known festivals in Kronberg (Germany) and Lockenhaus (Austria). His professional resumé also includes performances in most of the philharmonic halls in Poland, the Concert Studio of the Polish Radio as well as a long list of international appearances: Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Austria, the USA, Spain, the Netherlands and France.
As a soloist, he has performed with the most celebrated orchestras from around the world: Südwestrundfunk Symphonieorchester Stuttgart, Symphonieorchester des Bayerische Rundfunk, Münchner Kammerorchester, Sinfonia Varsovia, the Symphony Orchestra of the Polish Radio in Katowice, Orchestre de Chambre de Geneve, Collegium Musicum Basel, Chamber Orchestra Wratislawia, Capella Bydgostiensis.
In February 2009, thanks to an invitation from Krystian Zimerman, he took part in the Polish tour of Zimerman's piano quintet, which was recorded by Deutsche Grammophone (Quintets No. 1 & No. 2 by Grażyna Bacewicz).
In 2005, Ryszard Groblewski performed a Polish preview of the revised version of Bela Bartók’s Viola Concerto, which was published by the composer’s son in 1995.
