Dariusz Jabłoński is a director of documentaries and film producer.
Born in 1961 in Warsaw. He is a graduate of the Directing Department of the Polish Film School in Łódź. Worked on the biggest undertaking of Polish cinematography, being the second director in Krzysztof Kieślowski's cycle Dekalog / The Decalogue. In 1986, he directed and produced the first independent documentary in Poland Wizyta starszej pani / The visit of an Elderly Lady. Founder and chief of the Apple Film Production studio, which produced a number of significant titles, particularly by the younger generation of artists, such as Krzysztof Krauze's Gry Uliczne / Street Games, Łukasz Barczyk's Patrzę na ciebie Marysiu / I'm looking at you, Mary, and Moje pieczone kurczaki / My Roasted Chickens by Iwona Siekierzyńska, as well as television dramas. Originator of the Polish Film Awards and founder of the Independent Film Foundation, created with the aim of promoting Polish cinema and its authors in Poland and abroad. Member of the European Producers Club and the European Film Academy.
