The 2015 Eastern Europe Initiative Congress in Lublin
Eastern Europe Initiative Congress (KIEW) will take place in Lublin from 1st to 3rd October 2015. It is co-organised by the East European Performing Arts Platform.
The goal of KIEW is to successfully inspire sustainable international collaboration, strengthen co-development, integrate environments, and stimulate dialogue between local and regional councils. Over the course of a few days, Lublin will be a place of dialogue for cultural and educational groups, local and national governments, creators and decision-makers.
During the 4th edition of the annual event, KIEW attendees will share their experiences of structural transformation. KIEW will be made up of nine programme tracks: 25 years of Self-Government; Education and learning; Heritage; Contexts; Culture for development; Sustainable development; Intercultural cities; Tourism; and Security in Eastern Europe.
The Culture for development programme which takes place on 3rd October will be compiled in its entirety by the EEPAP group. It will consist of the following panel discussions:
- Transformational potential of avant-garde movements in art with Svietlana Ulanovskaya, a dance critic from Lublin, Istvan Szakats, an activist from the AltArt Foundation in Cluj and Natuka Vatsadze, a performative artist representing the Bulion Group fromTbilisi. The discussion will be moderated by Bartosz Wójcik, a literary critic.
- Memory of the history - between politics and culture with Oksana Dudko, an historian and theatre curator from the Centre for Urban History in Eastern-Central Europe and Art Workshop Drabyna in Lviv, Ida Daniel, a director from Bulgaria, Iulia Popovici, a critic and theatre curator from Observator Cultural in Bucharest and Tamas Jaszay a theatre critic from Budapest. The discussion will be moderated by Bartosz Wójcicki, a literary critic.
- "Schengenland" and the rest of the world. The image of post-transformation and in-transition states with Taguhi Torosyan, a curator and art theorist from the Institute for Contemporary Art and AJZ space from Yerevan, Biljana Tanurovska-Kuljavkovski, a curator and art theorist from the Nomad Dance Academy in Skopje and Nadia Sokolenko, a curator and theatre critic from Kiev. The discussion will be moderated by Joanna Wichowska, a theatre critic and curator of the East European Performing Arts Platform.
