'Zandata Mondata':
In September Boiler Room will launch a video of another Polish artist - Księżyc.
All shot in collaboration with Don't Panic! We're from Poland, a project was initiated in 2008 by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute. Since its creation, the phrase 'Don't Panic! We're from Poland' has become synonymous with new, high quality music from Poland – a country whose booming music industry remains unexplored abroad.
A need to create a showcase of contemporary Polish musicians triggered the project. Its primary goal was to attract industry professionals from outside of Poland. The Warsaw showcase caught on quickly, and soon similar events were organized all over the globe. Within the last couple of years, Polish artists had the opportunity to perform at such festivals as SXSW, CMJ Music Marathon and Culture Collide in the United States; The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City in the UK; Reeperbahn Festival, C/O Pop in Germany, Eurosonic Noorderslag in Holland, Waves Vienna in Austria, Tallinn Music Week in Estonia, or Primavera Sound in Spain. The Warsaw showcase has become a part of the European Music Fair and is now split into events focused entirely on jazz, world music, alternative music and heavy sounds.
So far, the Don't Panic! We're from Poland project is responsible for over 40 events in 18 countries The Adam Mickiewicz Institute started to be perceived as the Polish music export office which, under the flagship brand Culture.pl, promotes artists worldwide. In many countries, Polish music was previously unknown. Now, it can be heard and explored.
