People have volunteered to support the projects based on their own selection of which idea their money was going to. Other Polish networks which function on the same basis are Beesfund.com (which was the first crowdfunding site in Poland), PolakPotrafi.pl and MegaTotal.pl. The latter is a service devoted to music and film projects. The level of financial input is not determined; each supporter decides himself on the amount of money they want to give and the endeavor that they wish support.
Wspieramkulture.pl is devoted to cultural endeavors of all kinds of genres and fields: architecture, design, film, photography, comic books, fashion, music, writing, handicratfs, visual arts, dance, theatre and performance art, new media, and publishing projects. It kicked off on the 12th of December, 2012 and since then it has helped to raise money for 33 different projects.

Wiktoria Minkowska from Wspieramkulture.pl explains:
Our portal helps to raise money not only for projects by very known artists, but also for those who are just about to create their debut pieces, and whose projects are not all that 'visible' and have therefore smaller chances of winning financial support. Each project has to have a clear goal, such the publishing of a book, a record, or the creating of an art piece. It should end with something concrete.
In order to give a project better chances of the volunteers' support, the artist can submit their projects to patrons who function in the Internet. These are usually cultural institutions or cultural celebrities who can choose to recommend the projects they believe in.
The time of the auction lasts from 14 to 60 days, but special events such as festivals can gather their funds for as long as one year. If the raising is sucessful and achieves the planned amount, the wspieramkulture.pl portal automatically subtracts 11% of the sum.
There are more the 600 portals for crowdfunding across the globe. The Deloitte company estimates that in the year 2013, the mechanism will have helped to raise a total of 3 billion dollars.
