Iin an interview with Łukasz Galusek, Małgorzata Omilanowska, the Minister of Culture, underlines that Tricity (and the Polish Baltic) is not only the past: Hanza, charming town houses, Gdynia’s modern architecture, resorts, and memories of the Maritime League, but most of all cultural centres in development: theatres, festivals, concert halls.
The Lithuanian photographer Gytis Skudžinskas presents his view of the shores of Estonia, Lithuania, Germany, and Poland, which, through his lens, become "timeless planes with soft, obliterated contours".
Aleksander Laskowski from the Adam Mickiewicz Institute appeals to the composers to create a musical identity for the Baltic Sea – if they wish, obviously. He also talks to Andrzej Panufnik’s daughter, composer Roxanna Panufnik.
Speaking of the Baltic culture, we cannot forget design. Rikke Jacobsen tries to answer the question of the myth of Scandinavian design, and Maris Takks ponders whether Baltic countries (led by Estonia) will become the new "tiger" of design.
This is only an outline of the problems touched on in the articles mentioned above, whose authors try to anticipate the possibility and consequences of the creation of a common Baltic identity, supporting themselves with historical and political cogitation.
