This volume consists of poems written during voyages Julia Hartwig has taken to the United States over the last twenty years. The poems are illustrated with photographs by the author and the volume includes an epilogue by Hartwig.
"Throughout this time America was a country without dreams for me. While there, I slept soundly but without dreaming. The days, however, were filled with surprises and were themselves akin to dreams that were tender, sensual, and sometimes nearly poetic in feeling. However, this dream was as if someone else's, as if extracted from the life of another." (Julia Hartwig)
