The festival will include concerts by some of the leading Polish jazz ensembles, the Marcin Wasilewski Trio, the Kuba Więcek Trio, O.N.E., and four performances by Israeli musicians which will play jazz arrangements of music by the great Polish composer, Frederic Chopin, which were written especially for the festival. The line up includes three Polish ensembles: the Marcin Wasilewski Trio, the Kuba Więcek Trio, O.N.E., as well as Israeli musicians Tom Oren, Hila Kulik and Erez Bernoi, the Guy Mintos Trio and the trio of Uriel Herman-Maya Belzitzman-Ehud Aton.
Since the late 1950s, when jazz in Poland was a symbol of the desire for freedom from the communist regime, to this day, Poland has been one of the leading countries on the global jazz scene. Despite this, jazz enthusiasts in Israel have hardly been exposed to Polish jazz. This festival is an excellent opportunity to remedy that.
