The concerts will be again conducted by Wojciech Czepiel, who has been working with music academies and artists from Southeast Asia for many years. In May 2012, he was awarded the Gloria Artis Medal by the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Artists invited to the project by the conductor include pianists Joanna Marcinkowska and Nguyen Viet Trung, as well as the chamber group Hanoi New Music Ensemble. Joanna Marcinkowska, one of the leading Polish pianists of the younger generation, is the Doctor of Musical Arts and appointed lecturer at the Department of the Pianoforte of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. She has won awards and prizes at several international and nationwide piano competitions and festivals. Nguyen Viet Trung is a young Vietnamese pianist educated in Poland. He has honed his skills at master classes conducted by such prominent pianists and teachers as Dang Thai Son, the winner of the 10th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition, professor Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń and Ewa Pobłocka. The Hanoi New Music Ensemble is a chamber group founded in 2015 focusing on performing works of contemporary Vietnamese composers as well as world music. The ensemble regularly gives concerts at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
The programme of the concerts will include works by Fryderyk Chopin, Karol Szymanowski, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Witold Lutosławski, Wojciech Czepiel and contemporary Vietnamese composers: Nguyen Minh Nhat and Vu Nhat Tan.
The concerts have been organised by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute operating under the Culture.pl brand in collaboration with the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi. The project is also supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Hanoi.
