Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) is the largest and one of the most important cultural events in Hong Kong. This year's 36th edition of the Festival, lasting from 21st March to 5th April, included screenings of over 330 titles from more than 50 countries. A part of the programme was a retrospective of recent Polish films, entitled "Poland in Close-Up". Eight titles of the past two years was shown, with the award-winning "The Mill and the Cross", directed by Lech Majewski and Oscar nominee Agnieszka Holland's film "In Darkness" among them.
The event was organized and financed by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, in cooperation with the National Film Archive.
