In Krystian Lupa's performance, stripped of Hollywood glitz, intoxicated with sex and alcohol Marilyn Monroe is portrayed by excellent actress Sandra Korzeniak, who has received numerous award for her role. On stage she is accompanied by several outstanding Polish actors: Katarzyna Figura as Marylin's teacher and mentor, Marcin Boska in the role of one of her lovers, as well as Piotr Skiba and Wladyslaw Kowalski.
"Persona. Marilyn" shows the life of Norma Jean Baker at the moment when spotlights and cameras are off. We see her in her apartment full of drugs, fears and men. The director Krystian Lupa called this performance a "photographic section", which shows the inner world of the protagonist depicted in detail, brutally and without embellishments.
