The aim of the OFF Fashion Competition is to support and promote young avant-garde fashion designers.
This year’s edition, the 15th since its inception, attracted a record-breaking number of submissions. Both the contestants and the winners will show their work on the runway at Alta Moda Roma - one of the most prestigious events in Italy, which presents the finest designs in the world of young haute couture fashion. The designers selected by Bianca Cimiotta Lami of the Italian Koefia International Fashion Academy and a long-time partner of the OFF Fashion competition, are: Halina Mrożek, Michał Mrzygłód, Łukasz Stachowicz, Aneta Zielińska, Katarzyna Jaworska and Rafał Zieliński.
The main theme of The Polish Avant-garde on the Runway show is the relationship between fashion and theatre. The organisers want to refer to the common heritage of Italy and Poland. The event’s schedule also includes puppet shows (created by the Kubuś Puppet and Actor Theatre from Kielce, Poland) as well as presentations of the work of Polish and Italian costume designers. The show will allude to Sleeping Beauty, Tale of a Charmed Duck, Pinocchio and Snow White.
The OFF Fashion Competition seeks designers who do not hesitate to break conventions and create trends and are ready to capture a wider audience.
The Polish Avant-garde on Runway show will take place on 16th July 2014 in the gardens of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland at 8.30 pm.
Organiser: Kielce Cultural Centre
Patronage: His Excellency Wojciech Ponikiewski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Italian Republic, to the Republic of San Marino and to the Republic of Malta.
