The Book Institute in Kraków and the Reportage Institute in Warsaw are behind the Fiction Free Warsaw festival, explain the concept behind the event in six points:
- because truth is more interesting than fiction
- because in our time so much has happened, that nothing needs to be made up
- because life is always becoming better material for reporters, photographers, and documentarians
- because nonfiction feels good even in such an artificial and conventional creation as theatre
- because travel develops the individual
- because, through travel, there are many reasons for meeting others...
Every day, the festival will focus on particular groups of topics - Wednesday the theme is "Fiction Free - from the Country", "Fiction Free - from the Front" on Thursday, "Fiction Free - from the Past" on Friday and Saturday's theme is "Fiction Free - from the World", the last day, Sunday is devoted to biographies: "Fiction Free - Biographies".
