The Lem Festival takes place at some of the most important cultural venues of Madrid, La Casa Encendida and Circulo de Bellas Artes. The evening opens with the Fantastic Lem exhibition hosted by the Polish Institute in Madrid, presenting photographs of Polish cinematic adaptations of Lem's writings.

The Lem in Madrid series of exhibitions, film screenings and discussions take place at some of the capital's most important cultural venues such as La Casa Encendida and Circulo de Bellas Artes
Noche en Blanco, (White Night) is an all-night cultural extravaganza which takes place on one night each September in Madrid. Everything is free of charge and the city runs 24-hour public transport to facilitate persons traveling to the various events. With the participation of Polish and Spanish experts, the event comprises an exhibition, conferences and screenings of films based on the writings of Stanisław Lem.
The evening opens with the Fantastic Lem exhibition hosted by the Polish Institute in Madrid, presenting photographs of Polish cinematic adaptations of Lem's writings. The opening night also features a screening of Andrzej Wajda's 1968 film "Przekładaniec" / "Roly Poly".
Between the 19th- 25th of September, audiences will be invited to watch and listen to a multimedia presentation of an interview with Stanisław Lem. On the 21st and 22nd of September a conference will be held devoted to the works of Lem and science fiction literature. The theme for the first day is Lem - art, literature and cyber-culture. Enrique Redel is to moderate the discussion with the participation of Ewa Lipska, Jerzy Jarzębski, Andrés Ibáñez and Miquel Barceló. Following the talk is a screening of Andrei Tarkovsky's "Solaris" from 1972. During the second day of the conference, experts will debate on the topic of "Lem - ethics, philosophy and politics". Enrique Redel will also guide this talk, with Paweł Okołowski, Wojciech Orliński, Fernando Marías and Luis Alberto de Cuenca as participants. The conference is to end with a showing of "Przekładaniec" / "Roly Poly" by Andrzej Wajda.
On the 8th of October, the Fantastic Afternoon series will introduce Spanish audiences to a selection of Polish science-fiction films atCirculo de Bellas Artes:
