Eurocinema Expo 2011 is a meeting of representatives of the culture and film industries together with new-digital-technology professionals
The conference addresses issues related to the digitalisation of cinema, including a discussion about the principles of strategy development for local movie theatres, including a discussion regarding the use of alternative solutions. In addition, there will be extra methods and possibilities presented, regarding the usage of 3D technology in cinema, such as transmissions of ballet and opera shows, concerts and sporting events. Other forms of ways to generate revenues will also be demonstrated: advertising, organization of conferences and catering, which, combined with proceeds from ticket sales, can ultimately contribute to self-financing for cinemas in the future.
During the meeting, the heads will discuss the issue of raising funds by budgetary units and non-profit organizations as well as other entities. As an example in this respect, a model of the Małopolskie Network of Cinemas will be presented, a part of the pioneering project of digitalisation of local cinemas in Europe, using structural funds to make it possible. Additionally, in the exhibition section, participants will be able to see the latest hardware solutions: D-Cinema, E-cinema, and 3D systems with a range of products dedicated to the cinema industry.
The conference is targeted to owners and representatives of the local cinema houses in Central Europe, local government agencies: homes and centres for culture, sport and recreation, cultural centres and institutions engaged in theatre operations, organisers of local government units, which affect their operations, providing a grant subjective and means for investment as well as decision-makers in the development of culture and cinematography. The conference will host representatives from the film industry, specialists in management and finance, cinema digitalisation experts, new-media-solution providers as well as central representatives and local authorities from both Poland and abroad.
The idea of Eurocinema Expo 2011 originated from the statutory mission of the Foundation for the Development of Cinema, the company's commitment to the Apollo Film Małopolskie Voivodship in supporting the development of cinema and the Japanese company, NEC Display Solutions, a producer of cinema projectors and large monitors among others.
The Eurocinema Expo 2011 Conference is co-financed from the European Union funds within the frames of the Małopolska Regional Operational Programme for the years 2007-2013. Projects of this type contribute to presenting local communities culture institutions with equal opportunities and to the reinforcement of the significance of the sustainable development of regions on the domestic and European level.
