Rome's Istituzione Universitaria Concerti (IUC) in Rome holds the only concert tour in Italy starring Russian pianist Yulianna Avdeeva. Following her victory at the 2010 Chopin Piano Competition
, she is considered a rising star on the international piano scene, destined to follow in the footsteps of Martha Argerich - the only other woman who managed to win the Chopin Prize (in 1965) and the other pianists who have won this highly coveted and historic competition for piano. Argerich, a member of the jury at the 2010 Competition, described Avdeeva as "an artist of harmony ". In addition to the main prize Avdeeva was awarded the special Zimerman prize for the best performance of a sonata.
The pianist currently studies at the Academy of Music Gnessin in Moscow, at the Hochschule für Musik Theater in Zurich where since 2006 she is assistant to Maestro Konstantin Scherbakov, and at the prestigious International Piano Academy Lake Como in Italy.
