Jolanta Woszczenko interests circle experimental forms of expression, as well as processes of communication – both between the artist and the viewer, and between art, mediums and technology. The exhibitions she curates often have a social dimension.
Woszczenko has been associated with the Łaźnia Centre for Contemporary Art in Gdańsk since 2008. In the past few years she has curated a number of exhibitions including In Motion: Maria Targońska (2024), Through the Keyhole (2025), which took on the themes of privacy and contemporary interpersonal relationships, as well as Sensorial Mechanisms: Patrícia J. Reis & Dorota Walentynowicz, a reflection on the ways in which women are perceived and represented in culture.
As part of her curatorial work, Woszczenko frequently combines art with ecology. During her curatorial residency in South Korea in 2024, Woszczenko organised an exhibition called In Conversation with Urban Nature at the Art Polygon in Gwangju, featuring artists such as Cecylia Malik and Piotr Urbaniec. She commented on the project:
It’s becoming increasingly important to forge new connections between the natural world and the Anthropocene, not merely for the sake of finding practical solutions to issues such as pollution and climate change.
