Etam Etamski is a young musician and producer (specializing in electronic music) who has already collaborated with the important figures of the Polish alternative scene.
Musician and music producer specialized in electronic music.
Etamski has worked with, amongst others, the Wrocław band Indigo Tree and the guitar trio Kristen (he added electronics to this trio’s superb album Western Lands). Together with the Rychlicki brothers from Kristen, he forms the trio Salto, and he also performs as a duet with Peve Lety from Indigo Tree. Etamski has recently received a lot of publicity in alternative circles thanks to the concerts he played with Robert Piernikowski from Napszykłat.
The 24-year-old Etamski (Przemysław Jankowiak) comes from the hip-hop school of cutting samples and arranging them into sequences. He draws a lot of inspiration from free jazz, perhaps because when it comes to this genre there is no middle ground – you’re either entirely into free jazz or you reject it completely. There is more to feel than to listen to in Etamski’s radical music. The musician claims that he‘s interested in pushing the background into the foreground. He therefore experiments with hums and delays and field recordings, and he seldom includes clear beats in his compositions – all of which is both disturbing and utterly modern.
