The Finest Interior Awards is a competition organised by the prestigious German Heimtextil Fair in co-operation with the German and Austrian societies of interior architects. They are awarded to architects and interior and spacial designers who have exhibited creativity in planning and implementation of innovative solutions.
Their design for Opera Software’s office in Wrocław competed with projects from international architectural studios, but Mode:lina triumphed to become the first Polish studio awarded in the competition.
Mode:lina’s designers faced the challenge of designing the interiors of the Norwegian company’s Wrocław office, situated in two period town houses in the city centre – one from the beginning of the 19th century and the other from 1913.
Although the roots of Opera Software are Norwegian, its Polish branch is strongly connected with Wrocław. In addition, the Hieronimus business centre (the so-called Glass House) is an important building for the citizens of Wrocław, which is why the designers searched for inspiration for the new interior design in the city’s architecture. Given the aesthetic preferences of the employees and the atmosphere of the city, the result preserved the industrial, ‘loft’ atmosphere.
