Jan Karski - L' uomo che l' scoprì Olocausto, or Człowiek, który odkrył Holokaust / The Man Who Discovered the Holocaust - is the title of an upcoming Italian comic book about the legendary Polish courier and emissary of the Polish Underground State.
This comic about Jan Karski will be published on the 100th anniversary of his birth - 24th June 2014. Karski was a Polish World War II resistance fighter and later became a professor at Georgetown University. Jan Karski - The Man Who Discovered the Holocaust illustrates the biography of Karski with a historical background of events during World War II. Much focus is placed on the German indifference to official reports during the war and the means of transferring information to the Allies about the extermination of the Jews. In the comic, Karski is represented as an accuser who criticizes the passivity of the decision-makers' reaction to the Holocaust.
The authors of the Italian publication are journalist and writer Marco Rizzo and illustrator Lelio Bonaccorso. The Italian publishing house Rizzoli Lizard is the publisher of the book. The comic album is expected to cost 17.5 euros. The release is scheduled for mid-January 2014.
